Anisha Kapoor is a 19-year-old Canadian fashion communication and promotions student at Central Saint Martins in London England, whose latest sartorial investigation features jewelry and shoes created entirely out of ice.
Exploring ephemerality and the temporal, these one-of-a-kind pieces were created drawing inspiration from glaciers and the impacts of climate change. “According to national geographic,” says Kapoor, “the fashion industry is the number two polluter in the world, directly impacting global warming. The pieces you see here won’t last forever, just like our glaciers they will melt and disappear, taking that beauty away with it.”
