AV Vattev’s FW23 Influenced By Georgia O’Keeffe and Christo

Antonio Vattev’s eponymous label AV Vattev debuted its Fall/Winter 2023 collection this past week, showcasing the designer’s fascination with renowned creatives who have inspired him over the years. “The Privilege of Observation” features artistic motifs from icons Georgia O’Keeffe and Christo, which appear throughout Vattev’s work.

The designer introduced upgraded menswear with bright colors and geometric prints inspired by O’Keeffe’s modernist paintings, as well as woven illustrations running across collared velour pullovers and nylon jackets. Moreover, angular cutouts adorned leather ensembles with strapped tops and removable hoods, whilst intersecting lines accented track tops and fuzzy maxis.

Christo’s originality, however, is evident in traditional Bulgarian designs paired with his trademark wrapping methods, which adorn nylon raincoats, wool sets, and satin belts, where wrap-around skirts are paired with cable-knit vests, leather outerwear, anoraks with tiger logos, and knitted balaclavas.
