Merging the aesthetics of retrofuturism and neotribalism, alongside visual elements of analog photography and neon lights, Liminul’s latest editorial Smoke Break Love Affair reflects on technology, old and new, and how fashion, style and art can coexist in a dystopian reality.
Commissioned by a vaping company for a mood board and visual concept construction, the editorial was made by young, independent art professionals from Curitiba, Brazil. Vivid Dream, a creative duo experimenting with direction and graphic design, with previous works for Volkswagen and Sony Music; Lívia Rodrigues, a director of photography who has worked in several music videos and campaigns alongside independent label Estúdio 172; and Duane Mota, an art director with an upcoming full-length movie coming out in 2022.
