Magda Butrym Spring ’26 is Slavic sophistication

In her Spring 2026 collection, Magda Butrym has achieved elegance without being boring. Floral dresses, workwear blazers and silk slips have been reproduced ad-nauseam by brands both high fashion and fast fashion, but Butrym has executed these feminine staples with skillful sophistication and edge; each piece contains something surprising, be it asymmetrical drapery or sculpted silhouettes.

Motifs of classic Slavic womenswear are woven throughout: fur coats, of course, but also floral prints and white pointelle that emulate tapestries and tea doilies. The muted palette of the Soviet living room is punctuated with the occasional revolutionary red ensemble, such as in a stunning and slinky long-sleeve gown, capturing the aesthetic landscape of the Polish designer’s origins. This is a motif that Butrym incorporated very prominently in her previous Fall and Winter 2025 collections, but the Spring collection approaches with more subtlety.

A white pencil skirt and peplum top set are almost vintage bridal, but paired with a suede brown bag, evokes countryside romanticism. On the other end of the spectrum, bomber jackets with high collars and belted shoulders infuse the collection with the fierce classiness of an 80s businesswoman. Another standout are the collection’s tall wooden mule-wedges; a clog turned sexy and sculptural.

The Spring 2026 collection is a natural continuation of the label’s ability to create womenswear that balances softness and structure, old world glamour with fine avant-garde tailoring.
