As expected, Collina Strada’s extra-terrestrial AW 23 collection titled ‘Please Don’t Eat my Friends’ was one the most talked about. The collection, with its laid-back casuals and feminine trims and embellishments, transported us to Area 51’s shrubby corner.
ALTAZURRA
Pristine drapery and fluid yet structured proportions defined Altuzarra’s recent offering at NYFW. With decadent asymmetry, luxuriant furs, and trench coats dominating the line-up, their presentation can easily be deemed as most balanced among their counterparts.
DION LEE

A whole lot of leather and risqué cutouts kept things hot at Dion Lee this season. Borrowing a few masculine elements and melding them with demure feminine sensibilities, Lee has proven himself one of the most intelligent and audacious designers of our time.
WIEDERHOFT

Bridgerton-inspired lingerie dresses sum up Wiederhoeft’s latest offering. Albeit ornately detailed and heavy on the jazz, there was a sense of cleanliness away from the clutter – a surefire marker of great craftsmanship and design.
AREA

Bananas and melons are apparently in fashion now, given Area can make fruit look high-fashion. The collection hit the sweet spot between avant-garde and wearability with silhouettes that were smartly balanced and refreshing.
RODARTE

Rodarte was one of the many highlights of the season. With darkly pigmented lips, over-the-top headgear, and plenty of theatrical silhouettes, the brand set the standard for the spectacle we all yearn to witness at fashion week.

There’s undoubtedly a vibe shift happening at New York Fashion Week—and planting one of the most talked-about designers as the grand finale of fashion’s biggest biannual event only cemented that feeling. LUAR served up a palate refresher for it’s Fall/Winter 2023 collection, delivering structured garments that command attention, nodding to the undeniably confident Williamsburg women that designer Raúl Lopez grew up around.
